Absolutely. I believe AMD, while partly genetic, is largely influenced by lifestyle—just like heart disease and diabetes. Historically, AMD was rare when people followed traditional diets, but today it’s a leading cause of vision loss in the developed world. Our genetics haven’t changed, but our diets have.
